If you loved the rakish WRX concept that bowed in New York earlier this year, the production 2015 WRX, which debuted today at the Los Angeles Auto Show, may be a slight downer: decidedly less boy-racer than its predecessors, its sculpted fender flares and unique sheetmetal only slightly disguise its Impreza rootstock. But the WRX has always been more about performance than style, anyway, and Subaru says the new car will top its predecessor on that front. The '14 WRX's 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer-four squeezes out 268 hp and 258 lb-ft -- just a little bit more than the outgoing 2.5-liter turbo-equipped car.

These are the first official pictures of the BMW X6, one of 2008’s most intriguing cars. It’s a 4x4 with a coupé body, seriously high performance engines including a 407bhp twin-tubocharged V8 and a trick diff to give it a flavour of the M division’s finest. The X6 is based on the X5's chassis and shares its wheelbase, but its around 20mm lower and has a wider track, to enhance its dynamic ability.
It’s certainly the sportiest SUV so far.
The new Jeep Cherokee has its official public debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show today with 9-speed gearbox and based on a Fiat platform. Now, with the New York Auto Show about to kick off (which you might reasonably have thought was yesterday after the flurry of activity from Jaguar and Land Rover) we get a full set of photos of the Cherokee and specifications. The new Cherokee sits on the Chrysler/Fiat Compact US Wide platform which gets independent front and rear suspension which, say Jeep, offers great on-road dynamics without sacrificing off-road ability and comes with a 9-speed auto box and a choice – at least in the US – of 184bhp 2.4 litre 4-cylinder or 271bhp 3.2 litre Pentastar V6.
